Health & Safety
The health and safety of our children is our top priority at Shining Stars Day Nursery.

We have strict policies and procedures in place to ensure that our premises, equipment, and activities are safe and appropriate for children of all ages.
Our staff are trained in first aid and emergency procedures, and we follow rigorous hygiene practices to prevent the spread of illness.
You can trust us to provide a secure and healthy environment for your child to grow and learn.
Nutrition
We pride ourselves on the standard and variety of food we serve. Our cooks produce food based a 3 week rolling menu programme. To ensure that children receive the correct nutrition and that their health is protected we:

Ensure the food we serve observes the government guidelines for children’s nutrition.

Maintain strict control over ensuring children with allergies are not exposed to unsuitable foods.

Prepare our food to exacting standards – we are 5 star rated for Food hygiene.

Allow time for our cook to regularly sit with the children during mealtimes to ensure any consistent likes or dislikes are built into the menus.

Make meals from scratch to ensure we have confidence in the ingredients and our preparation process.
To promote choice and independence, for children 20 months+ we serve food in serving tureens to allow the children the opportunity to build their meal as they like it rather than imposing our view of how the meal should be constructed.

Baby room mealtimes are around a circular table that makes for a more social mealtime than that created by rows of highchairs.
​
We are able to cater for Halal, Gluten-Free, Vegetarian and Vegan diets where required.
